Marian boys upend Nativity in D-II meet

Lukas Damian won the javelin, shot put and discus, helping Marian to a 99-42 Schuylkill League Division II victory over Nativity in a make-up meet Monday atop Lawton's Hill.

Mark Buchinsky (high and triple jumps) and James Kolbush (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles) added two individual wins apiece as the Colts (5-0, 4-0 D-II) remained undefeated.

Brady Morgan took first in the 200 and ran the anchor leg of the winning 400- and 1,600-meter relay teams for the Green Wave (1-3, 1-3).

TAMAQUA - Jimmy Close (100, 200), Humza Hnesh (800, 1,600) and A.J. Stevens (long jump, triple jump) won two individual events apiece as the Crimson Tide (4-0, 3-0 D-I) remained perfect on the season, routing the Blue Raiders (1-3, 0-3) in a Division I meet at the Tamaqua All-Sports Complex.

Zach Zucatti (javelin) and Jason Sylvester (discus) were the only Tamaqua victors on the day.

Paige Stoner (1,600, 3,200) and Madison Sherakas (100 hurdles, 300 hurdles) also captured two individual events apiece for Pottsville (3-1, 3-0).

Morgan Boyle (javelin), Rylee Devlin (shot put) and Rebecca Minehan (pole vault) won events for Tamaqua (2-2, 1-2).
