MINERSVILLE - Riley Gerenda pitched a no-hitter, striking out eight, as Minersville rolled past Nativity 10-0 in a Schuylkill League Division II-III crossover game Monday.
A walk issued to the second batter Gerenda faced was the only thing that kept her from a five-inning perfect game.
Minersville's offense provided more than enough run support. Adrienne Kroznuskie and Lindsey Snyder both hit solo home runs in the first inning. Kroznuskie added a double and two RBIs after hitting her sixth homer of the season and second in as many games.
Reighly Melochick drove in two runs for the Miners on two hits - one a double - while Rachel Sterner registered three RBIs on two hits.

TOWER CITY - Hannah Nestor registered her 100th career hit on an RBI double that tied the game in the seventh inning and Kate Whelski bunted in a run in the eighth to lead Williams Valley over Tri-Valley in a Division II game.
Rayanne Hawk hit a solo home run in the first inning, while Cassidy Pinchorski struck out eight and allowed only three hits in a complete-game win for the Vikings.
Catt Troutman hit a two-run home run in the second inning for the Bulldogs.
Hamburg 6 Schuylkill Valley 0
LEESPORT - Courtney Graham had three hits and two RBIs to lead the Hawks to a Berks League Section II victory over the Panthers.
Hamburg's win, combined with Berks Catholic's 4-0 victory over Conrad Weiser, created a three-way tie atop the standings. Hamburg, Conrad Weiser and Twin Valley all finished 6-4, with the Hawks taking the division title because they had the highest power rating.
The eight-team Berks League tournament begins Thursday.
Paige Lesher threw seven scoreless innings, allowing just two hits.
Erica Lutz had two hits - one for a double - and two RBIs for Hamburg, which has won four straight and was 1-4 in the division on April 16.
Abby Boyer registered 10 strikeouts for Schuylkill Valley.

Shaud also hit a two-run single in the first inning and Lindsay Nemeth had two hits in the win for the Fillies.

PINE GROVE - Hayley Wolff hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and Jeena Sidleck went 4-for-4 with three RBIs as Pine Grove cruised by Jim Thorpe in Division I action.
Wolff finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs and teammate Brittanie Whitman had a three-run triple for the Cardinals.
Blue Mountain 16 Panther Valley 1
ORWIGSBURG - Stephanie Harding went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and pitcher Catherine Washko tossed a one-hitter over four innings as Blue Mountain routed Panther Valley in a Division I game.
Washko helped her cause with two hits, including a triple during the Eagles' nine-run third inning, and two RBIs.
Alexandra Rodriguez had the Panthers' lone hit in the first inning.
Schuylkill Haven 9 Lourdes 6
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Johannah Bilansky hit a two-run double in the fifth inning and struck out six to get the win for Schuylkill Haven, as the Hurricanes defeated Lourdes in a Division II contest.
Kassidy Svenson went 3-for-4 with a triple for Schuylkill Haven.
Caity Funk hit a double and a triple for the Red Raiders.

MAHANOY CITY - Kelly Walinchus went 3-for-3 with a double to lead the Golden Bears in a three-inning, Division III rout of the Blue Devils.
Shaina Leshko, Nicole Wilner, Erin Davidson, Jamie Rago and Emily Bruce all had two hits for Mahanoy Area. Davidson, Rago and Bruce added two RBIs apiece.
Bruce picked up the win in the circle for the Bears, allowing just one run on two hits.

BERWICK - Chase Stokes had a single and an RBI as the Spartans dropped a non-league game to the Bulldogs.
Brianna Schlauch singled and scored a run for North Schuylkill.
College Softball Tri-Valley graduate excels for S. Florida
PHILADELPHIA - University of South Florida freshman outfielder Juli Weber returned to Pennsylvania over the weekend to help the Bulls post a four-game sweep over Temple.
Weber, a Tri-Valley graduate, has played in 44 games (40 starts) for South Florida, which wrapped up the regular season 40-14.
Going 44-for-127, Weber has an overall .346 batting average, including a team-leading .414 (24-for-58) in conference play.
