Krammes places 6th in javelin at U.S. track meet Area wrestlers named to Top 300 PA recruit list

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Pottsville native Barry Krammes placed sixth in the javelin at the U.S. Track and Field Championships on Sunday.

Krammes recorded a top throw of 247 feet, 9 inches, just off his season best of 248-4 achieved in May at Charlottesville, Virginia. Krammes' personal record is 259-1 set in the preliminaries of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Krammes, a social studies teacher at East Stroudsburg South High School who assists local high school athletes in the sport, competed in the U.S. championships for the ninth straight year and recorded his sixth top-10 finish.

Krammes was fourth in 2013 (253-10), 10th in 2012 (236-4), sixth in 2008 (242-2), fifth in 2007 (243-4) and fifth in 2006 (241-11).

Eleven area wrestlers have been named to the Pennsylvania Top 300 recruit list for 2015 compiled by papowerwrestling.com.

Tri-Valley's Caleb Bordner tops the local contingent, as the 2014 state medalist is No. 28. The 125-pounder is 113-34 for his career.

His is joined by teammate Hunter Harner at No. 40, Hamburg's Sean Stanish at No. 106, North Schuylkill's Alek Hummel at No. 108, Upper Dauphin's Coy Campbell at No. 115, Tri-Valley's Anthony Snyder at No. 119, Panther Valley's Rian Shubeck at No. 123, North Schuylkill's Nathan Gadinski at No. 172, Tamaqua's Dylan Rynkiewicz at No. 183, Blue Mountain's Christian Gosch at No. 199 and Pine Grove's Danny Diaz-Walton at No. 282.

Hempfield's Sam Krivus, Central Catholic's Vincenzo Joseph, Franklin Regional's Michael Kemerer and Boiling Springs' Korbin Myers top the list, which analyzes the best senior wrestlers in Pennsylvania.
