Athletic honors: Bruso participated in baseball, football and basketball, in which he earned varsity letters for all four years. In football, he earned first-team honors at defensive back on The Republican-Herald All-Area team, Tri-Valley League all-star team and the Pennsylvania AP Sports Writer's All-State Class A team. In baseball, Bruso was an honorable mention pick to The Republican-Herald All-Area team in 2013 and 2014. He was named to the Anthracite Baseball Coaches Association All-Star and All Scholastic Team in 2011 and 2013. He was also a PA Futures Classic All-Star Baseball recipient for 2013 and a 2014 American Legion Baseball all-star team nominee.
Academic honors: Bruso received the Leadership Award scholarship from Lebanon Valley College, the Lawrence J. Kopp Memorial Scholarship for biology and the Distinguished Performance in Academics Award from Tri-Valley High School. Bruso was also a member of Future Business Leaders of America, student council, Future Farmers Association and Leo Club. Tri-Valley High School athletic awards presented to Bruso include the DK Schwartz Award, TVHS Senior Athletic Award and the United States Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award. Bruso also was a recipient of the Tri-Valley Midget Football Scholarship.

Riley Gerenda, Albright

Athletic honors: Gerenda was a member of the 2011 and 2014 PIAA Class A state championship softball teams and the 2012 District 11 Class A championship team. She was the winning pitcher this past season in both the district and state finals. Gerenda earned Republican-Herald All-Area honors as a pitcher during her sophomore and junior years and was a first-team All-Area pitcher during her senior year. Most recently, she was honored as a first-team pitcher in Class A on the Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association All-State Team. She holds school records for 16 strikeouts in a state playoff game and 18 strikeouts in a regular-season game. She ranks fourth on the Minersville Area High School all-time strikeout list. In 2014, she posted a 7-0 record in the district and state playoff games. Gerenda was also a four-year member of the soccer team.
Academic honors: Gerenda was a member of the National Honor Society, Garland Group, yearbook and SADD club. She earned the "creative writing" award as a senior.
