Herb promoted to High Desert in Seattle system

ADELANTO, Calif. - Williams Valley High School graduate and Seattle minor league baseball player Tyler Herb has been promoted to High Desert of the Class A Advanced California League.

Herb, who was drafted in the 29th round (pick No. 861 overall) of the Major League Baseball Amateur Player Draft on June 7 after a stellar career at Coastal Carolina University, pitched in five games for the Mariners' team in the Arizona League before getting promoted.

A right-hander, the 22-year-old Herb pitched five games in relief for the AZL Mariners, going 1-1 with one save and a 6.14 ERA. He struck out 12 and walked one in 7.1 innings, earning the win in his professional debut June 20 against the AZL White Sox.

High Desert is located in Adelanto, California, which is northeast of Los Angeles and north of San Bernardino.
