Nanticoke nips

Blue Raiders

in girls’ soccer

TAMAQUA — Riley Klepedio and Courtney Day each scored two goals as Nanticoke overcame a four-goal deficit to defeat Tamaqua 5-4 in a girls’ soccer match Saturday.

Morgan Boyle scored twice while Emma Pester and Lori Kisner each found the back of the net as Tamaqua (0-1) built a 4-0 lead with 35 minutes left. Day scored the game-winner with 9:37 remaining.

Carly Sassaman made 10 saves in goal for Tamaqua, which won the JV game 1-0.

Panther Valley

in girls’ volleyball

LANSFORD — Panther Valley swept Weatherly 25-18, 25-17, 25-8 in a non-league girls’ volleyball match Saturday. No other details were provided. Weatherly won the JV match 2-1.
