SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — The road to the Schuylkill League Division II girls’ soccer championship took another major turn Tuesday night.
Kyrsten Miller scored a goal during the 4th minute, while Alyssa Schadle recorded 20 saves as Williams Valley shut out Schuylkill Haven 1-0 at Rotary Field
With the win, the Vikings moved into first place in the division, one point ahead of the Hurricanes. Both teams have qualified for the Schuylkill League playoffs.
The victory also completed a season sweep for Williams Valley over Schuylkill Haven. The Vikings can win the division with a win or tie at home against Minersville on Thursday. The Hurricanes will win the division with a victory at Nativity and a Williams Valley loss.

HEGINS — Taylor Header had three goals, while Jess Wolfgang had two assists as the Bulldogs clinched a berth in the District 11 Class A playoffs with a shutout of the Green Wave in a Division II contest at Bulldog Stadium.
Header scored two of Tri-Valley’s three first-half goals. Both were assisted by Wolfgang. Jess Underkoffler had the Bulldogs’ other first-half goal.
Goalkeeper Megan Boyer recorded three saves for the shutout.
