Ashland nabs Pool 3 crown

ASHLAND - Mike Reilley threw one-hit ball over four innings to help lead Ashland to a 4-1 victory over Minersville in a District 24 Little League 9-10-year-old Tournament contest to clinch the Pool 3 championship Sunday afternoon.

Ryan Caulfield, Jack Flynn and Jonas McGrath each had RBI hits for Ashland.

Upper Dauphin Co. 7 Cressona 0

CRESSONA - Owen Oakley, Brody Robinson, Josh Norris and Keenan Cryts all collected hits for Cressona, but it wasn't enough as Upper Dauphin County shut out Cressona to win Pool 4.

SPN 16 Pine Grove/Tremont 2

TREMONT - SPN banged out 14 hits to back up a combined three-hitter from John Holobetz and Jake Kuperavage in a four-inning victory over Pine Grove/Tremont that clinched the Pool 1 title.

Holobetz went the first three innings to get the win, striking out seven. Kuperavage pitched the fourth.

Riley Stanton, Dylan Shirey, Justin McCure, Holobetz and Kuperavage had two hits apiece for SPN, with Shirey and Kuperavage each hitting a double and triple.

Kuperavage's triple drove in SPN's first two runs of the game as SPN jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first inning.

D18 10-11 Tamaqua Blue 11 Towamensing 1

TOWAMENSING - Emily Titus and Michael Minchoff each collected three hits, including a home run apiece, to lead Tamaqua Blue past Towamensing in four innings in the District 18 Little League 10-11-year-old Tournament.

Titus hit a three-run home run in the first inning before Minchhoff added his three-run blast in the third.
