Minersville senior Katie Krasinski won a $100 scholarship, awarded as part of the Schuylkill League Girls’ Volleyball All-Star Matches on Wednesday night at Martz Hall.
Seniors competed on their Schuylkill League division teams in the event.
The participants in Wednesday’s match were led by four — Jessica Millard, Samantha Hines, Kelsey Koppenhaver and Amber Roach — from Division III champion Millersburg.
Four teams sent three players each to Martz Hall. Lehighton was represented by Brianna Karponicz, Holly Hinkle and Michaela Petrucci. Minersville’s seniors were Cassidy Mason, Krasinski and Stephanie Curran. Panther Valley was represented by Erin Evans, Jessica Wiese and Macey Markovich.
Though the players were unable to participate because of the team’s PIAA Class A championship match against Greensburg Central Catholic on Saturday, Marian was represented by Emily Pilla, Lauren Nietz and Abby O’Donnell.
Schools sending two seniors were Halifax with Paige Miller and Amber Laudenslager, Mahanoy Area with Noelle Kaufman and Rylee Kane, North Schuylkill with Carly Gregas and Lacey Deeter, Pine Grove with Kayla Bressler and Holly Martin, Schuylkill Haven with Malory Medaglia and Kaylee Read, Shenandoah Valley with Kristina Nieddu and Mariah Sands, Tri-Valley with Alexis Artz and Jordyn Ebersole, Upper Dauphin with Colleen Kolva and Taylor Brown, and Williams Valley with Belinda Boyer and Maura Kreiser.
Four schools sent one player each. Blue Mountain was represented by Brittney Moyer. Nativity’s Laura Bolich, Tamaqua’s Vanessa Solt and Weatherly’s Samantha Hartz also were named.
