TAMAQUA — Brett Kosciolek finished with 28 points as Tamaqua opened the game with an 18-9 scoring advantage in the first quarter during a 60-46 victory over North Schuylkill in a Schuylkill League Division I contest Saturday evening.

With the win, the Raiders qualified for the District AAA playoffs and remained tied with Blue Mountain for second place in the division. The Eagles beat Jim Thorpe 51-50 on Saturday.

Bo Rottet added 14 points, and Russell Blaker 10 for the Blue Raiders.

John Mercado led the Spartans with 12 points, while Justin Heaton added 11.

Rayan Green led the Olympians with 15 points, and Shane Snisky added 14.

Miller scored eight of his points in the third quarter as Mahanoy Area had a 20-4 scoring advantage to put the game away.

Matt Yedsena finished with 14 points, while Mike Joseph had 13, and Mike Wronski 11 to complete Mahanoy Area’s quartet of double-digit scorers.

Larry Czeponis paced the Red Raiders with 14 points.
