Accomplishments: Was a driving force for the Eagles in a key dual meet and at the Schuylkill League Wrestling Tournament. Pinned Dawson Schwalm in 1:58 to help Blue Mountain defeat Tri-Valley 48-17 in a Schuylkill League Division I dual meet. At leagues, Cagle notched a fall and two major decisions to win the 160-pound title. Defeated Tri-Valley’s Anthony Snyder by major decision 19-10 in the finals and was named the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler.

What age did you start wrestling: Eighth grade, age 13. “I was a late starter,’’ Cagle said.

How would you rate your win at the league tournament?: “It’s such a big confidence-booster. Confidence is a big thing for me. Wrestling and beating a state qualifier (Snyder) fires me up for the rest of the season.’’
What did you think when you were named Outstanding Wrestler?: “I was a little surprised. I wasn’t thinking about it during the tournament. It’s an honor. There are a lot of good wrestlers who have won that. It capped a good tournament for me.’’
Why are you better this season?: “My work ethic. This summer, I wrestled more than ever before. I worked on my technique, and that separates this season from other seasons.’’
What are your goals for the rest of this season?: “Team goals: Win the division (Schuylkill League Division I) and have a good performance at District Duals. Blue Mountain is improving a lot.’’
Any personal goals?: “I don’t think too much about that. I just try to win every match. ... I’d like to have a strong postseason.’’
Post-graduation plans: “I’m still looking at colleges to study accounting.’’
