TAMAQUA — Pine Grove’s Kobe D’Agostino and Tamaqua’s Bo Rottet reached career milestones Thursday night.

The Raiders need one more win to earn a spot in the Schuylkill League playoffs.

D’Agostino and Rottet each finished with 22 points to go over 1,000 points for their careers, but it was a fast start from Tamaqua that carried the Raiders to 70-39 Division I victory over the Cardinals at the Tamaqua Athletic Center.

D’Agostino came into the night needing five points to reach 1,000, while Rottet was 12 away.

By reaching his milestone, Kobe D’Agostino joins his brother and current Pine Grove coach Frank D’Agostino as 1,000-point scorers for the Cardinals. Frank is Pine Grove’s all-leading boys’ scorer with 1,947 points.

Rottet became the 12th Tamaqua boys’ basketball player to reach 1,000. He joins teammate Brett Kosciolek as a 1,000-point scorer for the Raiders. Kosciolek reached the mark last season.

Russell Blaker finished the night with 15 points for the Raiders, while Kosciolek added 13. Tamaqua stayed one game ahead of North Schuylkill in the Division I wild-card race and a spot in the league playoffs with one game remaining.

The Raiders travel to Blue Mountain tonight and if they win, Tamaqua will earn the wild-card berth.

North Schuylkill beat Jim Thorpe 47-40 on Thursday and hosts Panther Valley in its league finale tonight.

Mark Weinus finished with 10 for the Cardinals.
