Pottsville rallied from an early 18-10 deficit with nine straight victories to defeat Pine Grove 50-18 in a Schuylkill League Division I match on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide (12-7, 5-1 Division I) had pins from Ryan Greene at 113 pounds, Richie Bentz (120) and Brian Farrell (132).

Pine Grove (10-10, 1-5) scored 12 of its 18 points through forfeits. The Cardinals’ Josh Phillippy opened the dual meet with a pin at 170.

Blue Raiders 6th

in Salisbury tourney

SALISBURY — Tamaqua’s wrestling team placed sixth in the Salisbury Falcon Invitational Tournament.

At 126 pounds, the Blue Raiders’ Tanner McHugh finished with a 5-0 record to win the weight class, but also was named Outstanding Wrestler.

Tamaqua’s Dylan Rynkiewicz went 5-0 with five falls to win the 138-pound class.

Brandon Mader (106) and Tyler Calkins (182) each finished fifth while Ty Hinkle (145) took sixth.
