H.S. Basketball Roundup for Feb. 7

MILLERSBURG — Jessica Hoffman had 11 points as Upper Dauphin overcame a slow first quarter to down Line Mountain 39-25 in the Tri-Valley League East Division runner-up tiebreaker game Saturday night.

With the win, the Trojans (10-13) will travel to West Division champ Juniata (19-2) in the league semifinals at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The other semifinal has West Division runner-up Susquenita (18-4) at East champ Halifax (14-8).

Upper Dauphin fell behind 13-4 after the first quarter Saturday but outscored the Eagles 35-12 the rest of the way.

Taylor Brown added eight points for the Trojans, while Kelsey Hoffman and Laura Sweger had six apiece.

MINERSVILLE — Chris Leshko drained the go-ahead 3-pointer with 9.3 seconds left in the game as the Miners downed the Blue Devils in a thrilling non-league contest.

Joel Santana, who had a game-high 34 points, missed Shenandoah Valley’s potential game-winning shot with seconds remaining

Spencer Tobin and Dave Graham scored 16 and 15, respectively, to lead Minersville, while Leshko had 11.

Ian McCole added 10 points for Shenandoah Valley.

HOMETOWN — Tevin Murray had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Spartans to a non-league victory over the Colts in their regular-season finale.

John Mercado added 10 points for North Schuylkill, which if off until the District 11 Class AAA playoffs begin in two weeks.

Nick Wesner scored eight points for Marian. The Colts need to win their last three overall games, or their two remaining league games against Lourdes and Weatherly, to qualify for the District 11 Class AA playoffs.
