D-11 DIVING: Rago, Devlin take 4th

EMMAUS — Tamaqua’s Emma Rago and Thorn Devlin came home with medals after placing fourth at Saturday’s District 11 Diving Championships at Emmaus High School.

Rago took fourth in the girls’ Class AA competition, compiling 234.60 points in the 11-dive event. Allentown Central Catholic’s Nicole Sagl repeated as champion with a district-record score of 511.10 points, with Southern Lehigh’s Erin Donnelly and Arden Stayer placing 2-3.

Devlin used a strong stretch through the middle of his routine to surge past Blue Mountain’s Lyle Luckenbill and capture fourth in the boys’ Class AA event.

The Salisbury trio of Dennis Bonner, Tyler Keller and Daniel Bujcs placed 1-2-3, with Bonner setting a meet and pool record with 528.90 points.

Devlin was fourth with 337.20, while Luckenbill, the Schuylkill League champ, was fifth with 303.90.

Pottsville’s Ed Hossler (237.55) and Kyle Brennan (234.70) and Blue Mountain’s Josh Sham (209.55) also competed.

Schuylkill League girls’ champion Gabrielle Hammer of Pottsville was the lone local entry in the girls’ Class AAA competition, placing ninth with 337.60 points.
