Big Diamond loses race date
FORESTVILLE — Big Diamond Speedway has lost one of is 2015 race dates after NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Tony Stewart’s purchase of the All-Star Circuit of Champions super sprint tour.
The Forestville oval was scheduled to host the second-year Renegade Sprint Series on Sunday, June 14.
When Stewart purchased the All-Stars, he also arranged with the Renegade Series management to fold that tour, a group that broke away from the All-Stars, back into his series.
The All-Stars announced its tour dates for 2015 on Wednesday, and Big Diamond was one of four Pennsylvania tracks with Renegade race dates that did not get an All-Stars show.
Big Diamond completed its preseason car show Friday night at the Schuylkill Mall, Frackville.
Roadrunner drivers Terry Kramer and Chris Holland won show awards during the closing ceremonies.
The track is scheduled to conduct a preseason practice session for all race cars with roll cages at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 15.
