BLOOMSBURG - Monday's rainy weather forced the PIAA to postpone all eight state softball semifinals until today.
Among those games was the Class A contest between District 11 champion Williams Valley and District 4 titlist Northeast Bradford. The teams will now square off at 4:30 p.m. today at Bloomsburg University's Jan Hutchinson Field.
In PIAA baseball, only one game was played, as District 7 champion Beaver defeated Quaker Valley 7-0 in a Class AA semifinal.

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Ryan McGinley has stepped down after eight seasons as the head women's basketball coach at Penn State Schuylkill, the school announced Monday.
McGinley was very instrumental in reviving the girls' basketball program at Schuylkill. He compiled a 90-74 record that included three consecutive Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference runner-up finishes from 2007-2009.
During his tenure, McGinley coached several All-PSUAC players, including Trish Clemas, Ashley Grabish, Shanita Cottman, Angela Avolio and Tia Lyons.

CALIFORNIA, Pa. - Recent Tri-Valley High School graduate Taylor Troutman is one of the nine members of the California University of Pennsylvania women's basketball program recruiting class, the college announced Monday.
Troutman, a three-sport standout in volleyball, basketball and softball for the Dawgs, averaged 12.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in helping Tri-Valley win the 2013 District 11 and PIAA Class A state championships.
The 5-foot-11 Troutman was a first-team Republican-Herald All-Area selection in both volleyball and girls' basketball as a senior, and helped Tri-Valley go 103-16 in basketball during her four-year high school career.
