FLEETWOOD — Pottsville broke out of its offensive funk in impressive fashion Monday.

The Crimson Tide used home runs by Darion Jacoby, Eli Nabholz and Travis Blankenhorn to score 20 runs over a two-inning span and rally past Fleetwood 22-11 in a six-inning non-league game.

Pottsville had scored nine runs over its first three games that included losses to Reading and Muhlenberg.

The Crimson Tide trailed Fleetwood 5-2 after four innings Monday before erupting for 11 runs in the fifth inning and nine more in the sixth.

Nabholz’s homer was a two-run bomb in the fifth, while Jacoby launched a three-run shot in the sixth.

Blankenhorn’s solo homer came in the third inning. Ryan Kalinich and J.J. Spehrley each had three hits for Pottsville, while Ty Painter added three RBIs on two hits for Pottsville.

TOWER CITY — Kaleb Hoch’s RBI single triggered a three-run eighth inning that lifted the Trojans past the Vikings in a non-league game.

Hoch finished 3-for-3 for Upper Dauphin, which led 4-2 in the sixth before Williams Valley’s Ryan Harris tied it with a two-run double.

Winning pitcher Aaron Cleveland quieted the Vikings over the final 2.1 innings, striking out four.

Zach Ulsh, Travis Martin and Andrew Underkoffler each had two hits for Williams Valley.

MINERSVILLE — Dylan Stephen and Ryan Nettles combined on a three-hit shutout as the Miners improved to 5-0 with a non-league rout of the Wreckers.

Collin Hashin doubled and singled for Minersville to join Chris Leshko, Cody Bettinger, Dave Pedron and Tyler Hendricks with two hits each. Stephen struck out eight in five innings.

Brett Kelly had two hits for Weatherly, which was playing its first game of the season.

MONT ALTO — Runs were tough to come by for the local Lions, who were defeated 5-0 and 7-3 in a Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference doubleheader.

Derek Coy tossed a two-hit shutout and struck out 10 in the opener for Mont Alto.

In the nightcap, Matt Roberts and Billy Stokes each had two hits for Schuylkill, which fell behind 6-1 after three innings and couldn’t recover.
