Conigliaro to make pro debut Saturday at Lakeside

BARNESVILLE — Saint Clair boxer Antonio Conigliaro will make his professional debut Saturday as part of a pro-am boxing card sponsored by A&D Promotions at the Lakeside Ballroom.

Conigliaro will square off with five-fight veteran Cody Walker (1-4) in a four-round bantamweight bout that is the main event of the evening.

Conigliaro, a veteran of 34 amateur bouts, has a style that is a mix of power and speed that is sure to translate well into the pro fight game. Walker has tested some of the up-and-coming prospects, with his losses coming to boxers who have a combined record of 16-1-1 with seven knockouts.

The co-feature will be a special six-round heavyweight attraction featuring former NFL defensive lineman Ray Edwards (9-0, 5 KOs) as he takes on the most experienced fighter of his professional career in rugged veteran Travis “Iron Man” Fulton (22-38, 21KOs).

Edwards played seven seasons in the NFL, which included five years with the Minnesota Vikings and another two with the Atlanta Falcons. While a novice at the sport, the 6-foot-4, 270-pound Edwards provides quite an imposing figure as he refines his skills in the ring. Edwards has quickly shown that he has power, having stopped over half of nine fighters he has faced.

Also on the card in a six-round bout will be undefeated welterweight knockout artist Wesley “King Wes” Tucker (7-0, 5 KOs).

In four-round bouts:

• Harrisburg super middleweight prospect Terrence Williams (4-0, 1 KO) looks to remain perfect when he swaps punches with New York’s Henry Beckford (1-1).

• Lancaster lightweight Jonathan Acosta will make his professional debut against Canadian Luke Noel (1-4).

• Former Pennsylvania amateur star Nicholas Hernandez (0-1) looks to even his record when he tangles with Jackson, Michigan’s Alfred Hall (3-7-2, 2 KOs).

There will also be several amateur bouts featuring some of the top notch amateurs in the region.

Advance tickets for the exciting night of action are priced at $35 for general admission and $60 for ringside. They will be $5 more at the door.

There are also special VIP tables of eight available for $600.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the first fight slated to start at 7 p.m.

To purchase tickets, call (570) 573-0103, (717) 743-9000 or (717) 968-8000.
