YHEC teams make strong showing
The Friedensburg Predators comprised of Ethan Adam, Evan Gerhard, Becky Kutz, Justin Weller and Mike Yob placeed first in the Senior Division and first overall to earn the traveling trophy at the recent Pennsylvania Eastern Regional Youth Hunter Education Challenge competition held at Wilkes-Barre Rifle and Pistol Club, Hunlock’s Creek. The team placed first in Hunter Responsibility and Shotgun, second in Wildlife Identification and third in Muzzleloader.
Pine Grove’s A Team of Trevor Greblick, Ryan Maher, Shane Martin, Dominick Sgrignolo-Carricato and Brandon Wasser placed first in .22 Rifle, Shotgun, Archery, Wildlife Identification and Hunter Responsibility and second in Muzzleloader to place first overall in the Junior Division.
Gerhard placed first in Shotgun, third in Wildlife Identification and second overall in the Senior Division; Weller placed first with a perfect score in Hunter Responsibility; Yob placed second in Hunter Responsibility; Angelica Kaledas placed first in Muzzleloader with a perfect score and first among Senior Division female competitors; Kutz was second overall among Senior Division female competitors.
The Friedensburg Ramrods comprised of Kaledas, Colt Bender, Don Legarht, Gwen Wagner and Zack Zaharis placed third in Hunter Responsibility. The Friedensburg Juniors comprised of Carrie Heberling, Chris Heim, Hunter Heim, Noah Venszl and Ryan Yob placed third in Muzzleloader; Heim placed second in Muzzleloader and third overall; Yob took third in Muzzleloader.
For Pine Grove A, Maher placed first in Shotgun and first as the overall Junior Division shooter; Sgrignolo-Carricato was first in .22 Rifle; Wasser was first in Wildlife Identification; Gavin Butler was second in Shotgun and third in .22 Rifle; Martin was second in Wildlife Identification and third in Archery; Emily Maher was third in Shotgun and Hunter Responsibility and was first overall among Junior Division females; Trevor Greblick was third in Wildlife Identification; and Courtney Greblick was second overall among females.
Pine Grove B comprised of Butler, Shawn Fitzpatrick, Emily Maher, Peyton Nuske and Caleb Reiter placed second in Shotgun, Wildlife Identification and Hunter Responsibility.
