HEGINS — Valley View had just three more hits than Schuylkill Valley in Monday’s Schuylkill-Berks Legion League game at Tri-Valley High School.
But the margin of victory looked far different.
Hunter Herb went 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI in what finished as a five-inning, 17-1 blowout win for the West Enders.
In addition to netting seven hits, Valley View drew nine walks and had four hit batsman. Hunter Bordner walked four times, scoring three runs for the West Enders.
Herb had the only multi-hit game for Valley View, but Conrad Opozda, Chase Schaeffer and Tyler Lucas each had two RBIs.
Damian Knerr led the Falcons, going 2-for-2 and scoring Schuylkill Valley’s lone run in the top of the fifth.

ORWIGSBURG — Rob Oliver singled in the bottom of the ninth inning to score Danny Greenawalt and give the A’s a thrilling victory over the Grovers.
Shane Grapsy’s single in the ninth advanced Greenawalt to scoring position and set up Oliver’s winner.
Greenawalt was 2-for-4 for the A’s, who got eight innings and 12 strikeouts from starter Nick Behm before Danny Blugis pitched the ninth for the win.
Ryan Wolfe went 2-for-4 with a double to lead Pine Grove.
