TEMPLE — There is no surprise for this week’s Schuylkill-Berks Legion League Player of the Week.
Tamaqua’s Pete Baddick took home the Schuylkill region honor after unloading three home runs in three straight games, doubling three times, scoring 10 runs and driving in nine.
Baddick hit .423 (11-for-26) in six games last week. Tamaqua finished 3-3 during the stretch, splitting with North Division foes Valley View and Pottsville, beating Schuylkill Valley and falling to Pine Grove.
Baddick earned the win against Valley View, striking out four in 5.1 innings in the wild 12-11 victory.
Hamburg’s Ryan Atkinson earned the Berks region honor. Atkinson had two home runs and six RBIs for the Reds last week.

SHILLINGTON — Cheyenne Wesley hit a run-scoring single for Southern Area in its loss to Shillington in a Berks County Area Junior Legion League game Friday.
Southern Area added hits by Ethan Stump, Jack McKivigan, Dylan Biever, Trevor Peters and Ryan Jarboe.
Zach Knuffman led Shillington with three hits and a run. Justin Del Vecchio added a double, a single and a run. Tucker Sanders had a double and a single.

All District 24 Little League games scheduled for Saturday were postponed due to heavy rain in the area.
Saturday’s games have all been rescheduled for today at the same locations.
