Stankiewitch sees lots of action
PHILADELPHIA - Matt Stankiewitch got extensive work in his NFL preseason debut Friday night.
A rookie center for the New England Patriots, Stankiewitch played seven consecutive series in the Patriots' 31-22 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
The former Blue Mountain and Penn State standout wore No. 69 and was a member of the Patriots' second-team offense, entering the game with 3:12 left in the first quarter. He exited after New England scored a touchdown on its first possession of the second half.
Stankiewitch played a total of 41 plays, including stints on the field goal and extra point units. While he was in there, New England scored 17 points and missed a field goal.
