MIDDLEPORT — Reggie Crawford was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles as Schuylkill North scored eight runs over its final two at-bats in a 12-4 victory over Schuylkill West in the VFW Area 2 13-14-year-old All-Star Tournament on Friday at Schuylkill Valley Stadium.
Crawford finished the night with four runs batted in as the North improved to 2-0 in the tournament.
Brandon Rockwell, Mike Little, Josh Hayle and Max Schally added hits for the North, while Hayle also drove in two runs. The game was tied at 4 entering the bottom of the fifth but the North broke it open with three runs in the fifth and five in the sixth.
Crawford, Jake Green and Rockwell combined on a one-hitter. Crawford went the first three innings, Green the middle three to get the win and Rockwell the seventh.
Nick Parobek had the only hit for the West (0-1), a single in the third inning.
Action in the four-team tournament continues with four games today and four games Sunday at Llewellyn.

LLEWELLYN — Nate Nabholz was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and Ben Kramer added three hits and collected four RBIs as the South rolled past the East.
Kobe Brish added three hits for Schuylkill South, which led 8-0 at one point. Parker Zimerofsky’s two-run double keyed the South’s four-run first inning.
Brandon Becker earned the pitching victory, scattering four hits over 4.2 innings.
Zackary Tobin, Aiden Stanton and J.C. Rodrian each doubled for Schuylkill East.

Maryland outlasts
Pennsylvania in Big 26
HARRISBURG — Maryland capitalized on two Pennsylvania errors to score five runs in the top of the 11th inning and capture a 10-7 victory over the Keystone State stars in Friday’s opening game of the Big 26 Baseball Classic at Metro Bank Park, home of the Harrisburg Senators.
North Schuylkill’s Tevin Murray started for Pennsylvania and pitched two scoreless innings, giving up two hits, hitting a batter and throwing 28 pitches.
Marian’s Joe Nahas pitched a scoreless seventh, getting a pair of outs with two Maryland runners on base to keep the game tied at 4-4.
Pennsylvania took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn’t hold it and the game went to extra innings. The PA squad tallied two runs in the bottom of the 11th, but it wasn’t enough.
The second game of the three-game Big 26 Baseball Classic is set for 4:35 p.m. today at Metro Bank Park.
