Romberger lifts Haven to Division II victory

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Hunter Romberger got Schuylkill Haven off to a quick start.

His Hurricane teammates kept it going.

Romberger scored two first-half goals and Owen Pothering added two more as Haven downed Tri-Valley 7-1 in a key Schuylkill League Division II boys’ soccer match Tuesday.

Romberger scored 6:57 into the game to open the scoring, then made it 3-0 at the 30:43 mark. Pothering had two goals and an assist, while Ben Connors, Dawson Evitts and Jon Moyer also scored for Haven, which outshot Tri-Valley 23-2.

Ethan Schatz had the Dawgs’ lone goal with 6 seconds left in the first half.

Rodrigo Sanchez recorded two goals and an assist, and Alfredo Diaz added two goals as Nativity picked up a Division II victory over Weatherly atop Lawton’s Hill.

Ricardo Chagolla scored one goal and had two assists for the Green Wave, while Eric Nelson made 14 saves.

Jake Stover scored the Wreckers’ lone goal.
