MINERSVILLE — Seldom do cross country records fall when temperatures soar into the 80s.
Don’t tell Tamaqua’s Adam Melnick and Monika Shimko, who set course records Wednesday at Minersville in a non-league tri-meet with Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech.
Shimko clocked a 21:54, two seconds better than the record set by Blue Mountain’s Sarah Brooks in 2013.

Minersville established its current 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) course in 2012.
