SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Williams Valley and Minersville are headed for a first-place showdown.
Megan Schadle and Rayanne Hawk scored first-half goals as the Vikings beat Schuylkill Haven 3-1 in a Schuylkill League Division II girls’ soccer contest Tuesday at Rotary Field.
Hanley Higgins pulled the Hurricanes to within a goal in the second half, but Autumn Calnon answered for Williams Valley to put the game away.
The victory helped Williams Valley (6-2, 6-0 D-II) maintain sole possession of first place in the division. The Miners (6-1, 5-0) stayed right behind after a 13-1 rout of Weatherly on Tuesday.
Minersville will travel to Williams Valley on Thursday evening.
