Minersville to resume boys’ soccer program
MINERSVILLE — After a 14-year hiatus, boys’ soccer is coming back to Minersville.
The program was reinstated by the Board of Education at Wednesday’s meeting. Additional details will follow in a coming edition.

Mychaellah Lucas added 17 assists, three kills and four digs for Mahanoy Area (6-2), while Mickayla Backo notched 11 kills, seven service points and two aces. Samantha Gnall compiled 14 service points and five aces.
The Bears won 2-1 in JV.

FOUNTAIN SPRINGS — Alanah Guerrero posted 17 kills and Leanna Gregas added 15 as North Schuylkill rallied to edge Tamaqua 18-25, 16-25, 25-22, 25-22, 19-17 in a Schuylkill League Division I-II crossover match.
Vanessa Ferraiolo recorded 37 assists and Bria Hocking had 12 digs for the Spartans (4-4, 3-3 D-II).
Alexis Baddick had 11 kills to lead Tamaqua (3-5, 1-5 D-I). Carly Kosciolek added 10 kills, five aces and three blocks. Paige Triano had 20 assists.
The Spartans won JV 2-0.
