PINE GROVE — Mariah Lesh had two goals and added an assist as Pine Grove shut out Minersville 4-0 in a non-league girls’ soccer match Saturday afternoon at Cardinal Stadium.
The game was a matchup of the Schuylkill League’s current division leaders. The Cardinals (10-0) are up in Division I by two points over Blue Mountain, while the Miners (7-2) are tied with Williams Valley for first in Division II with 12 points, but Minersville is undefeated in league play at 6-0.
Lesh scored the Cardinals’ first two goals of the game during the 8th and 57th minutes.
Steph Aungst (61st minute) and Hunter Madison (69th minute) added goals for Pine Grove. Aungst’s goal came off a Coral Kreiser cross. The ball never hit the ground as Aungst put the ball into the back of the net with a shot off the side of her foot.
The Cardinals had a 19-2 advantage on shots on goal in. Maggie Wigoda had 12 saves for Minersville and Jen Kaufman one for Pine Grove.

SLATINGTON — Morgan Boyle had a hat trick in the second half as the Raiders rallied from a halftime deficit to down the Bulldogs in a non-league contest.
Lynn Kistler added a goal for Tamaqua and assisted on all three of Boyle’s goals. Boyle scored in the 52nd minute, while Boyle set up Kistler for the tying goal in the 57th minute.
Boyle then put in go-ahead goal in the 62nd minute and added another in the 70th.
Alexa Hyomyak had 15 saves for the Raiders.

Nativity loses twice
at Upper Dauphin
ELIZABETHVILLE — Nativity lost two games in the Upper Dauphin Invitational Tournament.
In the semifinals, Nativity fell 2-1 to Upper Dauphin in the second round of a shootout after battling the Trojans to a scoreless double-overtime tie. The teams then tied 4-4 in the shootout’s first round.
Nativity then lost 4-0 to Millersburg in the consolation game.
For the tournament, Nativity’s Rachel Souchak recorded 22 saves.
Annville-Cleona beat Upper Dauphin 3-1 in the championship game.
