LEHIGHTON — The race for Division I became even tighter Tuesday night.

Zach Christoff scored twice and assisted on a strike by Joe Marks to hand Lehighton a 4-0 victory over Blue Mountain to move into a tie with the Eagles for first place in the division.

Last season, the Indians lost both regular-season meetings to Blue Mountain before claiming the Division I wild card and beating the Eagles in the league championship.

Christoff scored both goals in the first half. Marks and Frank Bokan scored in the second to pull away. Tyler Dietz made five saves in goal for Lehighton.

COAL TOWNSHIP — Owen Pothering and Dawson Evitts scored early for the Hurricanes in their Division II victory over the Red Raiders to keep two points behind Nativity for first place.

Pothering struck in the 10th minute and Evitts’ goal came in the 20th. Blake Handling made it a three-goal game in the 76th minute.

MANDATA — Trevor Hoffman scored twice to lead the Trojans’ Tri-Valley League rout of the Eagles.

Upper Dauphin got on the board first with a Line Mountain own goal from a throw-in. Jordan Gessner, Cameron Crum and Alex Uhler then scored before Hoffman’s back-to-back goals in the final 10 minutes of the first half.

Blake Messner converted a penalty in the second for the Trojans.
