The Blue Mountain All-Sports Hall of Fame will induct seven new members Friday during a halftime ceremony at the Blue Mountain-Marian football game at the Eagles’ Nest.

A gathering for the new inductees and their families will be held prior to the game on the stadium grounds, and a reception for inductees and current Hall of Fame members will be held after the game at Roman Delight Restaurant on Route 61.

Chosen by a vote of Hall of Fame members, the Class of 2015 includes:

Erin McIntyre Cataldi

A 2001 graduate, McIntyre earned three varsity letters in track and field and four varsity letters in basketball.

In basketball, McIntyre was a 1,000-point scorer despite missing most of her junior year due to a torn ACL. As a sophomore, she helped Blue Mountain capture the District 11 Class AAA and Schuylkill League Division I titles — a first in Blue Mountain school history — and reach the state semifinals.

After rehab from her ACL injury, McIntyre came back strong in her senior year. She led the team in scoring, steals and assists, was named second-team All-Anthracite and was the MVP in the Roundball Showcase All-Star Game.

McIntyre continued her basketball career at Alvernia College, where she was a four-year starter and 1,000-point scorer. In her senior year, she was named first-team All-PAC, All-PAC Women’s Basketball Sportsmanship Team and female senior athlete.

McIntyre currently teaches at an early learning center. She and her husband, Adam, a sergeant in the U.S. Army, reside in Dover, Pennsylvania, with their three children.

Tim Eisenhauer

Eisenhauer was a 1996 graduate, excelling in soccer and basketball.

On the soccer field, Eisenhauer earned three varsity letters and helped the Eagles to three Schuylkill League championships. He earned first-team All-County and All-State honors and was Blue Mountain’s soccer scholar-athlete.

In basketball, Eisenhauer earned four varsity letters and finished with 1,378 career points. As a senior, he was named Pottsville Republican Player of the Year, Reading Eagle Anthracite first team and fourth-team All-State as the Eagles won the District 11 championship.

Eisenhauer continued his basketball career at Kutztown University, where he played for two seasons.

Eisenhauer resides in San Diego, California, and lives with his girlfriend, Kimberly. He is the president and co-founder of Axero, a company that makes collaboration software for businesses. He is also an artist and photographer.

Robert Koperna

A 1986 grad, Koperna earned eight varsity letters in basketball, baseball and football.

On the gridiron, Koperna displayed his skill as a running back, rushing for 970 yards. He earned honorable mention honors to the T-102 Dream Team, All-County and All-Anthracite accolades.

Koperna attended Delaware Valley College, where he earned varsity letters in two sports all four years of his college career — a feat that few Blue Mountain athletes have matched.

Koperna lives in Chester Springs with his wife and four children. He is employed by Konecranes Inc. as a business development manager.

Keith Kirby

Kirby is a 2000 graduate who starred on the football field and basketball court.

A quarterback, Kirby guided the Eagles to a 23-2 record over his final two seasons, earning Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association first-team and Reading Eagle All-Anthracite first-team honors both seasons.

He helped Blue Mountain record its first unbeaten regular season in 1998 and finish as the District 11 runner-up. As a senior, Kirby guided Blue Mountain to its first District 11 championship and a berth in the state playoffs.

Kirby and his wife, Jill, reside in the Blue Mountain School District with their two children, Cohen and Avery. He is a manager with Miners Bank.

Paul Klepchick

A 1993 graduate, Klepchick earned letters in four sports while maintaining a 4.0 grade-point average in the college prep curriculum.

Klepchick was a charter member of the Blue Mountain boys’ soccer team, playing goalie. The team was a District 11 qualifier for three years, with Klepchick being nominated as the Blue Mountain and Schuylkill County Soccer Scholar-Athlete.

In addition, Klepchick participated in the triple, high and long jump in track and was a doubles player on the tennis court.

Swimming was Klepchick’s forte. He excelled in diving, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle, and was part of several medley relay quartets.

Klepchick qualified for Schuylkill League, District 11 and PIAA state competitions, and was a District 11 record-holder in two events. He also garnered All-State honors and All-America honors. He was named Schuylkill League Male Swimmer of the Year his senior year.

Upon graduation, Klepchick was awarded a scholarship to the University of Miami, Florida, where he was named Miami University Scholar-Athlete, Big East Scholar-Athlete and nominated to the NCAA Academic All-America team.

Klepchick continued to swim competitively during his medical school years, and is currently training for triathlons and marathons. He is a radiologist for the Allegheny Health Network and lives in Mount Lebanon with his wife and three children.

Paul Vacula

Vacula is a 1967 graduate of Saint Clair High School, where he was a standout quarterback for the football team and also played basketball and baseball.

Vacula has enriched the Blue Mountain boys’ basketball program as an assistant coach for 30 years, serving under three head coaches.

As a varsity assistant, his statistic compilations and opponents’ tape analysis added valuable insights and strategies. He helped coach four District 11 championship teams, one District 11 runner-up team and two Schuylkill League title teams.

Vacula recently retired from Blue Mountain after 28 years of teaching social studies. He and his wife, Rita, live in the Blue Mountain School District. They have two daughters.

Garry Yeich

Yeich is a 1964 graduate of Blue Mountain, and was annointed King of Sports his senior year.

Yeich was a four-year letterman in basketball under coach and teacher Glenn Kramer, earning Player of the Year and All-County honors.

He was a shortstop on the Eagles baseball team, earning four varsity letters. Yeich was selected for the county All-Star team and was Player of the Year.

Upon graduation, Yeich served four years in the United States Navy.

Yeich is retired after 44 years as a steel worker. He is married and lives in Pottsville.
