LEHIGHTON — The Lehighton boys’ soccer program finished its inaugural season in the Schuylkill League last year with a league championship.

The encore so far has been pretty good as well.

The Indians locked up the Division I title Thursday night with a 9-3 victory over Tamaqua as Patrick Lawler had a hand in the first four goals of the game.

Lawler scored twice and assisted on goals by Dan Baka and Zach Christoff. Christoff also scored twice and assisted on Joe Marks’ tally, while Jake Petit-Clair added a pair of goals for the Indians, who will face Division II runner-up Schuylkill Haven in next Wednesday’s league semifinals at 7 p.m. at Pine Grove.

MIFFLINTOWN — Chase Goodwin scored with two-tenths of a second left in the first overtime to give the Indians a Tri-Valley League victory over the Trojans on Wednesday.

Goodwin’s goal completed a hat trick, with all three assists by Brand Brackbill.

Mason Stoneroad and Alex Uhler scored for Upper Dauphin.

MyKenzie Malacusky and Jourdan Starr tallied two goals and one assist apiece to lead Nativity to a non-league victory.

Nativity senior goalkeeper Rachael Souchak reached a milestone, making two saves to finish with 1,001 in her career. Souchak also scored a goal in the 74th minute.

Schuylkill seized a 3-2 lead on back-to-back Schwalm goals, but two goals by Kyle Venditti and goals by Gabriel Opoku-Akoto and Steven Principe put Hazleton ahead to stay.
