Pirates hold off Bears for victory
PORTLAND, Maine —Logan Shaw scored two of the Portland Pirates’ three second-period goals as the Pirates held off the Hershey Bears 3-2 Saturday night in an American Hockey League game.
The Bears got goals from Jakub Vrana on the power play and Dustin Gazley, who scored the first goal of the game.
Portland goalkeeper Mike McKenna made 15 saves in the third period to preserve Portland’s lead.
The Bears and Pirates face off again today.
