DUNCANNON — Friday night’s Tri-Valley League game turned into the Nick Rodichok Show.

The senior quarterback passed for four touchdowns to lead Williams Valley to a 26-21 victory over Susquenita on Friday night.

Rodichok tossed touchdown passes of 58 and 3 yards to Allen Hand, a 4-yarder to Levi Engle and a 9-yarder to Jake Wolfgang.

The 3-yarder to Hand came with 10 seconds left in the second quarter and gave the Vikings a 20-7 halftime lead.

Rodichok finished 14-of-21 for 183 yards with four TDs and one interception.

Kevin Kenny rushed for 147 yards and two TDs for Susquenita. His 2-yard run with 10:47 left in the game cut the deficit to five points, but Williams Valley’s defense didn’t allow any more points the rest of the way.

Mount Carmel 41

Warrior Run 13

TURBOTVILLE — After being shut out the last two weeks, the Red Tornadoes wanted to get its offense going while getting more running backs involved against the Defenders.

The offense had no trouble getting going and several backs were successful moving the ball as Mount Carmel amassed an impressive 413 yards on the ground in a convincing Heartland II win.

With the win, Mount Carmel (4-4, 4-1 HAC-II) greatly improved its postseason prospects.

“I thought it was good we got a lot of guys involved,” Mount Carmel coach John Darrah said. “We got contributions from (Lane) Tanney and Zach (Zarkowski) and Kyle (Karycki) obviously had a big game.”

Karycki rushed for 257 yards and three touchdowns, including a key 95-yard romp that came just two plays after the Tornado defense came up with a fourth-and-goal stop inside their own 10.

“I thought our guys were resilient,” Darrah said. “We came here and did what we expected to do.”

Mount Carmel had no trouble moving the ball early and held a 21-0 lead midway through the second quarter. Warrior Run managed to steal a little momentum with a scoring drive late in the second quarter, aided by two roughing the passer penalties, that resulted in a touchdown on the final play of the half as Matt Truckenmiller caught a scoring pass from Gage Anzulavich.

Bogged down by penalties, the third quarter saw the Tornadoes’ lead grow to 38-7 on Karycki’s long scamper and a Tanney 27-yard run. Rosolino Mangiapane was 5-for-5 on PATs, missing only on the final score.

Montoursville 49

Shamokin 14

COAL TOWNSHIP — After one play, the Shamokin faithful at Kemp Memorial Stadium were on their feet and excited.

But, after that 17-yard first-down pass from quarterback Nate Shurock to wide receiver Isaiah Reiprich there was little to celebrate for the home fans.

Montoursville used three first-half touchdown passes from junior Brycen Mussina and a 115-yard rushing first half by tailback Keith Batkowski to roll to a 42-0 first-half advantage en route to a Heartland Conference Division I victory.

Shamokin coach Pat DiRienzo was encouraged by that first play, but the mood changed quickly.

“We thought maybe, but …it’s just to the point now where our passing game has been suspect all year, and we thought we’d try something different and it didn’t work the way I wanted it to,” he said.

“Again, it’s another tough opponent, another quality opponent. But again, my kids didn’t quit.”

The two players he worried most about, Mussina and Batkowski, played as advertised and DiRienzo said the Warriors didn’t do anything unexpected.
