PSU’s Nassib named Nagurski Trophy finalist
STATE COLLEGE — Penn State senior defensive end Carl Nassib has been named one of five finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, given to the nation’s top college football defensive player.
The West Chester resident is the fifth Nittany Lion to be a finalist and the first since Devon Still in 2011.
Nassib enters Saturday’s home game against Michigan with the NCAA Division I lead in sacks with 15.5, in tackles for loss with 19.5 and in forced fumbles with six.
The other finalists are Duke’s Jeremy Cash, Clemson’s Shaq Lawson, Temple’s Tyler Matakevich and Alabama’s Reggie Ragland.
