HAMBURG — Tri-Valley has a chance to begin this season in the same place it began last year.

The Dawgs have a shot at the Hamburg Tip-Off Tournament trophy today for the second straight year thanks to Friday night’s 49-35 victory over Annville-Cleona in the first round.

Paige Doyle scored 14 points, including 10 in the first half, for Tri-Valley. Alyssa Connell added 11 points, and Kelly Romberger pitched in eight for the Bulldogs.

COAL TOWNSHIP — Carmella Bickel scored 24 points and Selina Albert added 12 as Lourdes opened its season with a rout of Sunbury Christian in the opening round of the Lourdes Tip-Off Tournament.

Both Bickel and Albert sunk four 3-pointers apiece, while Krissy Komara had nine points for the Red Raiders.

Lourdes will face Marian, a 37-24 winner over Shamokin in the other game, in tonight’s championship.
