ELIZABETHVILLE — Schuylkill Haven has opened its season with two straight wins and a championship crown to boot.
J.T. Hughes scored a team-high 17 points Saturday as the Hurricanes edged Upper Dauphin 49-45 in the finale of the Upper Dauphin Tip-Off Tournament.
Hughes scored 12 of his points in a 21-10, third-quarter run that gave Haven a 38-33 lead that its never relinquished.
Ethan Conage added 14 points for Schuylkill Haven, including a 4-for-6 effort from the foul line.
Jordan Gessner recorded a game-high 26 points for Upper Dauphin, scoring 15 in the first half and shooting 12-of-14 from the free-throw line.
