TAMAQUA - Joann Butkus, Miranda Amey and Danielle DeCindio each won two events as the Tamaqua girls remained unbeaten on the season with a 132-31 victory over Mount Carmel in a Schuylkill League swim meet Thursday.
Butkus placed first in the 200 IM and 100 freestyle, while Amey won the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke and DeCindio touched first in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
Rebecca Kanaskie (200 free) and Carly Trovinger (100 breast) added individual wins for the Blue Raiders (6-0, 3-0 SL), who swept every event and took over sole possession of first place in the league standings with the victory and Schuylkill Haven's loss to Blue Mountain.

TAMAQUA - Matt Stanek (200 free, 500 free) and Jake Kropp (50 free, 100 back) were double-winners as the Blue Raiders (5-1, 2-1 SL) won their fourth straight with a Schuylkill League win over the Red Tornadoes.
Gage Whalen (200 IM), Ben Turrano (100 fly), Ethan Eberts (100 free) and Patrick McMullen (100 breast) added individual wins for Tamaqua (5-1, 2-1 SL), which won all 11 contested events.

LEWISBURG - Wesley Shurock scored the lone pinfall for the Red Tornadoes at 195 in a losing effort against Lewisburg in Heartland Conference wrestling action.
Damien Parker (120) posted a technical fall and Mitchell Fletcher (145) rounded out the scoring for Mount Carmel with a major decision.

The Black Panthers, who won the first four weights by forfeit, gained falls from Logan Bennett (120), Taylor Houtz (138) and Collin Arndt (145). Milton's Zack Bennett took the 152-pound bout by disqualification.
Shamokin was paced by a pin by Brett Rebuck (160). Brett Long (132) recorded a technical fall, while Adam Miller won by major decision.
