Blue Mountain cops boys' championship

MOUNT CARMEL - For the second straight year, Blue Mountain is the Schuylkill League boys' swimming champion.

The Eagles officially clinched the league crown Thursday with an easy 127-18 victory over Mount Carmel.

Mark Boran won the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke, while Wyatt Kramer (200 free), Stephen Johnson (200 IM), Nick Yackenchick (50 free), Joshua Sham (diving), Nathanael Marino (500 free) and Colin Greenawalt (100 back) added individual victories.

Tamaqua 103 Schuylkill Haven 80

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Jake Kropp (100 free, 100 back) won a pair of events as the Blue Raiders (8-2, 3-2) outlasted the Hurricanes (4-3, 2-3).

Ethan Eberts (50 free), Thorn Devlin (diving), Ben Turrano (100 fly) and Matt Stanek (500 free) added individual wins for Tamaqua, which won seven straight events through the middle of the meet to turn a four-point deficit into a 31-point lead.

Nick Semanco (200 IM, 100 breast) was a double-winner and swam on two winning relays for Schuylkill Haven.

Pottsville 97 Mahanoy Area 59

MAHANOY CITY - Anthony Wojciechowsky was victorious in the 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke and teamed up on the winning 200 medley relay to lead the Crimson Tide to a win over the Bears.

Liam Mansell (100 free) and Kebner Antalosky (50 free) picked up individual wins for Mahanoy Area.

MAHANOY CITY - Noel Bernardyn took a pair of individual events and teamed up on two winning relay teams as the Golden Bears rolled past the Crimson Tide.

Sarah Corse-Campion won the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke for the Crimson Tide.

MOUNT CARMEL - Maddie Bartush, Erica Donohue, Rebecca Donohue and Rachel Juritsch each won an individual event and swam on two winning relays as the Eagles beat the Tornadoes.

Caroline Rickard, Carleigh Bogotuik, Madelyn Krause, Courtney Dukmen and Rachel Coller also scored individual wins for Blue Mountain.
