Crimson Tide roll past Jim Thorpe

JIM THORPE - Eli Nabholz tallied a game-high 21 points as Pottsville rolled past Jim Thorpe 62-22 in a Schuylkill League Division I boys' basketball contest Thursday.

Travis Blankenhorn added 17 points for the Crimson Tide, who led 46-7 at halftime. The win, coupled with Blue Mountain's 75-47 win over North Schuylkill, set up a division tiebreaker between Pottsville and the Eagles on Saturday at Minersville at 7 p.m.

Tamaqua 59 Panther Valley 40

LANSFORD - Blue Raiders junior Brett Kosciolek scored 22 points to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career as Tamaqua downed Panther Valley in a Division I contest.

Bo Rottet added 18 for the Raiders, including 12 in the first half to give Tamaqua a 32-18 halftime lead. Russell Blaker added 11.

Jake Szczecina scored 18 points and Kyle Ferryman added 11 for Panther Valley, which was eliminated from District 11 Class AAA playoff contention with the loss.

Minersville 63 Schuylkill Haven 18

MINERSVILLE - Dylan Ellinger had a game-high 18 points to lead the Miners to a Division II victory over the Hurricanes.

Shamiek Bethea (11) and Chris Leshko (10) also scored in double digits for Minersville. Austin Charles led Haven with six points.

Williams Valley 56 Lourdes 45

TOWER CITY - Stephen Sedesse knocked down three 3-pointers on his way to 17 points as the Vikings downed the Red Raiders in a Division II contest.

Nick Rodichok added 16 points and Ben Rautzahn added 10 for Williams Valley.

For Lourdes, Kenny Pawelizyk had 17 points, while Luke Holleran and Larry Czeponis each added 12.

Mahanoy Area 71 Nativity 30

Dylan Mahmod tallied 22 points as the Golden Bears overpowered the Hilltoppers in a Division III contest atop Lawton's Hill.

Mahmod drained four of Mahanoy Area's 10 3-pointers. Larry McNeil added 13 points and Tyler Cavenas chipped in with 11 for the Golden Bears, who finished undefeated in the division.

Kyle Kaledas scored 10 to lead the Nativity offense.

Marian 44 Weatherly 32

HOMETOWN - Nick Kubishin drained five 3-pointers on his way to 17 points as the Colts pulled away in the second half to post a Division III win over the Wreckers.

The Colts qualified for the District 11 Class A playoffs with the victory.

For Weatherly, Luke Reiner had a team-high 13 points.

Upper Dauphin 64 Juniata 46

MIFFLINTOWN - Matt Miller scored 18 of his game-high 25 points in the first half as the Trojans marched on to a Tri-Valley League win over the Indians.

Brandon Nestor recorded a double-double for Upper Dauphin, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Mac Ney chipped in with nine points for the Trojans, who led 44-23 at halftime

Oley Valley 71 Hamburg 60

OLEY - Pat Barter had a game-high 26 points while Josh Kisha added 19 but it wasn't enough as the Hawks dropped their regular-season finale to the Lynx.

Hamburg finished the season 3-19 under first-year coach Ryan McGinley.

KIPP DuBois 91 Gillingham Charter 8

NEW PHILADELPHIA - Freshman guard Jahaad Everett-Bey scored 24 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead KIPP DuBois past Gillingham Charter at the Simon Kramer Institute.

Nyseim Parks added 10 points for KIPP DuBois, which hit 13 3-pointers in the game and led 54-5 at halftime.

Romeo Murray had four points to lead the Wolf Pack, who were shut out in the second and fourth quarters.
