OREFIELD - Four Schuylkill League wrestlers were crowned champions and two others garnered silver medals at the District 11 Junior High Wrestling Championships that concluded Monday at Parkland High School.
Blue Mountain's Jake Hendricks (132), North Schuylkill's Brady Mickatavage (167) and Jeno Schicatano (252) and Tri-Valley's Daniel Scheib (187) each won his respective weight class at the tournament, which featured 44 teams regardless of class in District 11.
Hendricks, the top seed in his 58-wrestler weight class, racked up three first-period falls and a major decision en route to the finals, where he decked Emmaus' Reed Custer by technical fall, 16-1 in 4:30.
Mickavatage was also the top seed, recorded three pins before decisioning Williams Valley's Dylan Rabuck 3-2 in the finals. Rabuck was seeded 11th and knocked off the No. 3- and No. 2-seeded wrestlers to reach the finals.
Scheib won his title in similar fashion, starting at the No. 1 seed and racking up three pins before edging Parkland's Jahan Worth 6-5 in the championship bout.
Schicatano was seeded fourth at 252, went 4-0 and pinned Nazareth's Nico Camacho in 3:09 to win the title.
Pottsville's Cole Painter also reached the finals, but lost by technical fall to Nazareth's Sam Sasso at 124 pounds.
Blue Mountain's Josh Mason (97), Panther Valley's Xander Kern (132), Tri-Valley's Kolt Schaeffer (167) and Williams Valley's Devon Rabuck (187) won bronze medals, while Schuylkill Haven's Austin Engle (107), Pine Grove's Dustin Carlin (140), Mahanoy Area's Matt Lewandowski (157) and Blue Mountain's Thomas Seaman (187) placed fourth.
Other local medalists were Tri-Valley's Dawson Schwalm (5th, 124), Schuylkill Haven's Joey Kocher (5th, 252), Pine Grove's Tyrese Armstead (6th, 77), Tamaqua's Brandon Mader (6th, 82), Blue Mountain's Chase Sincavage (7th, 112) and three wrestlers from Panther Valley: Tanner Kennedy (6th, 112), Loudon Breiner (8th, 82) and Hunter Kennedy (8th, 117).
Blue Mountain placed eighth in the team standings, while Tri-Valley was 10th and North Schuylkill took 13th.
Crowning three champions and five runners-up, Nazareth dominated the tournament with 288.5 points.

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Molly Carduff tallied 18 points and Lauren Leshko added 13 as Penn State Schuylkill dropped its season finale to Penn State York in a Penn State University Athletic Conference contest.
Penn State Schuylkill led 23-21 before Penn State York ended the first half on an 8-2 run, with five points by Hannah York and a 3-pointer by Brittany Kint.
