SLATINGTON - Tri-Valley coach Bob Felty thought his team would fare well against second-seeded Salem Christian in the District 11 Class A quarterfinals.
Well, maybe not this well.
Brianna Wiscount scored a game-high 14 points as the defending district and PIAA Class A state champions dominated Salem Christian from start to finish en route to a 63-8 victory Saturday.
The Bulldogs opened the game on a 20-2 run, led 37-4 at halftime and did not allow a single point in the entire fourth quarter.
The victory advances the seventh-seeded Dawgs to Wednesday's semifinals, where they will play sixth-seeded Shenandoah Valley, a 33-31 overtime winner over Nativity, at 6 p.m. in Martz Hall.
NW Lehigh 53 Blue Mountain 32
SLATINGTON - Corinne Foster scored 12 points and pulled eight rebounds, but No. 7 Blue Mountain was eliminated by second-seeded Northwestern Lehigh in a District 11 Class AAA quarterfinal game at Northern Lehigh High School.
The Eagles trailed 27-19 at halftime and scored just 13 points in the second half.
Trista Cunningham led the Tigers with a game-high 17 points. Erika Thomas added 14.
District 3 Class A Girls' Basketball Upper Dauphin 38 Lancaster CC 33
LANCASTER - Taylor Brown scored 17 points and had four steals as No. 8 Upper Dauphin defeated second-ranked Lancaster County Christian in a District 3 Class A quarterfinal game.
Down 30-28 with 1:40 left in the fourth, Kelsey Hoffman hit a 3-pointer to give the Trojans the lead. Brown and Whitni Rudisill each added two foul shots to put Upper Dauphin up for good.
