PSU caravan set for May PSU Schuylkill's Lynch honored

STATE COLLEGE - The Penn State Coaches Caravan will make 17 stops in May, including 13 in Pennsylvania, Penn State University officials announced Wednesday.

The bus tour, featuring new head football coach James Franklin along with several other Penn State sports' head coaches, will come closest to Schuylkill County on May 21, when the tour visits the Allentown-Bethlehem area for an evening reception after stopping in East Stroudsburg earlier in the day.

Other locations in the tour, that begins May 1 in State College, include York, Uniontown, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Williamsport and Erie. The tour also will visit northern New Jersey, New York City, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Further details, including registration for each stop on the tour, will be announced later.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Penn State Schuylkill men's basketball player Kenford Lynch was named an honorable mention by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association on Tuesday.

Despite playing for a team which went 1-19 overall and 1-6 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference, Lynch was selected to the national roster.

He appeared in 19 games and led the Lions with 430 points, including a pair of 31-point performances against Penn State York and Penn State Mont Alto, while averaging 22.6 points per game.
