SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Penn State Schuylkill women's basketball player Molly Carduff was recently named an Academic All-American by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.
Carduff, a Shenandoah Valley graduate, averaged 19.1 points per game for the Lady Lions while maintaining a 3.74 grade-point average in nursing. Carduff is also a member of the Penn State Schuylkill softball team.
HARRISBURG - Four area girls have been selected to the Turkey Hill Cheerleading Roster for the 2014 Big 33 Football Classic to be held June 14 at Hersheypark Stadium.
Kelsey Hughes and Michaela Zimmerman of Pine Grove, Upper Dauphin's Katelyn Boyer and Mount Carmel's Jayme Lentini were among 76 senior girls selected from high schools across Pennsylvania.
During game week for the Big 33 Game, cheerleaders will help run a youth cheerleading clinic in Dauphin County as well as perform during the halftime show with their special needs buddies.
