FRACKVILLE - Doug Weist accomplished a feat not too many 12-year-olds get to do Wednesday.
The Frackville all-star hit for the cycle in a District 24 Little League 11-12-year-old Tournament game.
Weist was 4-for-4 as Frackville remained unbeaten with a 17-0, four-inning rout of Mahanoy City in a Pool 3 game. Weist, who was also the winning pitcher, tripled and hit a grand slam in the first inning, helping Frackville build a quick 9-0 lead.
Zach Falls added a two-run homer in the first inning for Frackville, which collected 14 hits. Weist and Ryan Weitz combined on a two-hitter.
Pine Grove/Tremont 11 SPN 9
SAINT CLAIR - Dawson Ibarra was 4-for-4 with a double and two runs scored as Pine Grove/Tremont defeated Saint Clair/Port Carbon/New Philadelphia in a Pool 4 contest.
Ibarra was the winning for Pine Grove/Tremont and turned a pair of unassisted double plays in the fifth and sixth innings.
Ryan Lindenmuth had three hits for SPN, including a grand slam in the sixth inning. Aidan Stanton, Zack Turnitza and Bernie Guzick each added two hits for SPN.
Ashland 22 Upper Schuylkill 0
ASHLAND - Mitchell Wagner was 4-for-5 and pitched three innings of no-hit ball during Ashland's Pool 1 rout of Upper Schuylkill.
Wagner hit two home runs in the game - a three-run blast in the second and solo shot in third - and added a double. He pitched the first three innings to get the win, striking out four, before Brandon Rockwell came on in the fourth.
Jake Green was 4-for-5 for Ashland with a double and three RBIs and Rockwell 2-for-2 with a double and triple.
Jake Stever had Upper Schuylkill's only hit in the fourth.
10-11-year-olds Ashland 9 Orwigsburg 2
ASHLAND - Payton Jenkins pitched five-plus innings, striking out eight, as Ashland defeated Orwigsburg in a Pool 2 game Tuesday night.
Jenkins helped his cause by collecting two hits and scoring two runs. Kris Wolfe, Brayden Jenkins, Dylan Edwards and Evan Rooney each added two hits for Ashland (1-0), which led 9-0 before Orwigsburg tallied two runs in the sixth.
Leiby and Grace had singles and scored runs for Orwigsburg (0-1).
Teener Baseball Junior Tournament Branch II 15 Schuylkill Valley 7
LLEWELLYN - Tyler Hendricks had a pair of doubles and Steven Wollyung and Billy Tellez each added two hits as Branch II defeated Schuylkill Valley in a first-round game Tuesday.
Michael Holobetz had three hits for Schuylkill Valley, which trailed 8-6 before Branch II broke it open with a seven-run sixth inning.
Valley Athletic 8 Williams Valley 4
TAMAQUA - Dair Miller was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, while Thad Zuber pitched a compete game in Valley Athletic's win over Williams Valley in the opening round Tuesday.
Zuber allowed five hits, struck out seven and didn't walk a batter. Valley Athletic fell behind 4-0 after the top of the third but scored three times in the bottom of the inning, three more in fifth and two in the sixth.
Pine Grove I 7 Pine Grove II 4
DETURKSVILLE - Tanner Levan went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and E.J. Herb was 2-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBIs as Pine Grove I (10-8) defeated Pine Grove II (9-9) in a first-round game Tuesday.
Levan struck out eight in 4.2 innings of relief.
