Spartans' Hutira no-hits SV

SHENANDOAH - Christie Hutira pitched a three-inning no-hitter and struck out eight batters as North Schuylkill crushed Shenandoah Valley 20-0 in a three-inning non-league game Monday.

Kelly Damiter went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple and two RBIs and teammate Raquel Amoto had a double and three RBIs for the Spartans.

Minersville 14 Schuylkill Haven 2

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Adrienne Kroznuskie went 4-for-4 with two doubles and teammates Emily Mealey and Morgen Woodford each knocked in three RBIs as Minersville cruised past Schuylkill Haven in a Division II game.

Allison Polinsky and Maura Bentz each had a triple for the Miners, who scored 10 runs on eight hits in the second inning.

Kassidy Svenson had two hits for Schuylkill Haven.

Tri-Valley 11 Weatherly 1

WEATHERLY - Katie Rabuck struck out 14 batters to guide Tri-Valley over Weatherly in a Division II-III crossover game.

Taryn Wilson and Maddie Horn each ripped two-run triples for the Dawgs.

Tamaqua 3 Mahanoy Area 1

TAMAQUA - Bailey Pedersen struck out 11 batters and scattered five hits as the Blue Raiders beat the Bears in a non-league game.

Cailyn Joseph hit a solo home run in the fifth inning and Carly Sassaman had three hits for the Raiders.

Stevie Wilner tallied two hits and teammate Desiree Malacusky had an RBI single for the Golden Bears.

Oley Valley 11 Blue Mountain 7

OLEY - Megan Tothero had two hits and three RBIs and Amber Dros smacked a two-run home run in the fourth inning, but Oley Valley used a five-run sixth inning to pull out the non-league victory.

Nativity 19 Lincoln Leadership 0

ALLENTOWN - Stephanie Killian, Erin Luckenbill and Rachael Souchak each had three hits and Allegra Miske picked up her first career win in the circle as Nativity downed Lincoln Leadership in three innings of non-league action.

Backed by 16 first-inning runs, Miske struck out six batters in the victory.

St. John Neumann 15 Lourdes 10

COAL TOWNSHIP - Peyton Klembara struck out nine batters, but St. John Neumann scored 11 runs in the fifth and sixth innings to overcome a 9-4 deficit and beat the Red Raiders in a non-league game.

Upper Dauphin 16 East Juniata 2

MCALISTERVILLE - Taylor Brown went 4-for-4 and teammates Kendra Schlegel and Autumn Walker each had three RBIs on two hits as Upper Dauphin routed East Juniata in a Tri-Valley League softball game.

Kaytee Mattern had a game-high four RBIs without a hit for the Trojans.

Girls' Track North Schuylkill 110½ Minersville 39½

FOUNTAIN SPRINGS - Carter Green won shot put and discus for the Spartans and Carly Bonomo placed first in the 100 and 200 sprints as North Schuylkill downed Minersville in a Schuylkill League Division I track meet.

Waverly Snyder won the 300 hurdles and took part in a winning 400 relay for the Spartans.

Boys' Track North Schuylkill 113 Minersville 37

FOUNTAIN SPRINGS - Freshman Bobby Wagner won three individual events (110 hurdles, high jump, triple jump) and ran on a winning relay as the Spartans defeated the Miners in a Schuylkill League Division I meet.

Ben Hinkel won the 100 and 3,200 for the Miners, who captured all three sprints and two of the three distance runs, but the Spartans took all the relays, jumps and throws to secure the win.
