Nativity sweeps Mahanoy Area

MAHANOY CITY — Jocelyn Holobetz had a big night with 10 digs, 16 kills, three aces and one block as Nativity swept Mahanoy Area 25-16, 25-13, 26-24 in a Schuylkill League Division IV girls’ volleyball match Monday evening.

Noelle Steele dished out 27 assists, seven digs, four aces and Carley Lionetto tallied eight digs, four kills and one ace for Nativity.

For Mahanoy Area, Noelle Kaufman registered nine kills, eight assists and three digs, Mychaellah Lucas totaled eight kills, seven assists, eight digs and two service points and Rylee Kane posted three blocks and nine service points.

Nativity won JV 2-0.

Schuylkill Haven 3

Weatherly 0

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Tori Pascucci collected 13 service points, four aces and 15 assists to lead the Hurricanes to a 25-10, 25-18, 25-20 win over the Wreckers in a Division IV match.

Madison Felty contributed 10 kills and nine digs, and Macy Dayson added nine digs and six service points for Schuylkill Haven.

For Weatherly, Lexi Hartz and Megan McClintock eachhad four service points. Sami Hartz added four kills and two service points. Jackie Gillott, Kim Carter and Summer Peck each had two service points.

Minersville 3

Shenandoah Valley 1

SHENANDOAH — Meg Schwalm collected 30 digs, five aces and two kills as the Battlin’ Miners secured a 25-10, 18-25, 25-13, 25-22 Division IV win over the Blue Devils.

Reiley Lonergan posted seven kills and five blocks, Alexis Huntzinger contributed eight kills and Emily Bartashus had nine kills and 18 digs for Minersville.

Mariah Sands contributed 11 kills, nine points and three digs, Ali Wargo tallied seven kills, two digs, two points and one block, Kristina Nieddu registered 30 assists, 11 points and eight digs and Alaina Demalis finished with 31 digs, three points and two aces for Shenandoah Valley.

Minersville won JV 2-0.

Tri-Valley 3

Williams Valley 1

TOWER CITY — Cat Troutman posted 12 kills to lead Tri-Valley to a 25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21 triumph over Williams Valley in a Division III match.

Maddie Scheib posted 11 kills and Alexis Artz added 42 digs for the Dawgs.

Bindy Boyer had 18 assists, three service points and five digs for Williams Valley. Brooke Miller added four service points and seven kills while Maura Kreiser posted seven service points, seven kills and five digs.

Williams Valley won the JV match 2-1.

Halifax 3

Upper Dauphin 0

HALIFAX — Autumn Capouillez sparked Halifax to a 27-25, 25-23, 25-14 triumph over Upper Dauphin in a Division III match.

Capouillez had three aces, six kills, three digs and 12 assists for the Wildcats. Kendall Lehman added seven aces, six kills and two digs while Paige Miller had two aces, six kills and seven digs.

Colleen Kolva led Upper Dauphin with seven aces and 11 assists. Nichole Campbell added five kills and eight digs. Taylor Brown had two aces, five kills and 20 digs while Laura Sweger posted nine kills, three aces and two blocks.

Marian 3

Notre Dame-GP 0

EASTON — Emily Pilla collected 10 kills and seven digs as the Fillies swept the Crusaders 26-24, 25-23, 25-23 in a non-league match.

Abby O’Donnell added 28 assists and 12 digs, while Abby Stankiewitch contributed nine kills and Maureen Kloap added eight for Marian, which rallied from deficits of 21-14 in the second set and 18-13 in the third set to win.

Marian also won JV 2-0.

Blue Mountain 3

Shamokin 0

ORWIGSBURG — Ashley Snesavage had 25 assists, four digs, three aces and two blocks for Blue Mountain in its 25-18, 25-8, 25-12 non-league triumph over Shamokin.

Blue Mountain took the JV match 2-0.

NW Lehigh 3

Jim Thorpe 0

NEW TRIPOLI — Riley Carroll posted three kills and 13 assists for Jim Thorpe, but the Olympians fell 25-12, 25-19, 25-17 in a non-league match to Northwestern Lehigh.

Makenzie Walck had seven kills, three aces and two blocks for the OIympians. Erin Shigo had five kills, two aces and 10 digs. Alex McGinley posted 13 digs.

Millersburg 3

Lourdes 0

MILLERSBURG — Sam Hines tallied seven kills, eight digs and an ace to lead the Indians to a 25-23, 25-13, 25-12 non-league win over the Red Raiders.

Jessica Millard contributed five kills and eight digs, Taryn Herb totaled nine kills and 11 digs and Amber Roach finished with four aces, a kill, 23 assists and three digs for Millersburg, which won JV 2-1.

ELCO 3, Pine Grove 0

MYERSTOWN — Holly Martin had 23 digs for Pine Grove, but the Cardinals lost 25-11, 25-14, 25-16 to ELCO.

Kayla Bressler had two kills for the Cardinals.

Pine Grove won the JV match 2-1.
