SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — With meets against Blue Mountain and Pottsville still remaining, the Schuylkill Haven girls’ swim team still entertains Schuylkill League championship hopes.

To keep those hopes alive, however, the Hurricanes had to get past Mahanoy Area first.

Mary Zimmerman and Allison Adams made sure that happened Tuesday, each winning two individual events and swimming on two winning relays as the Hurricanes downed the Golden Bears 97-73.

Zimmerman won the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, while Allison Adams took first in the 50 free and 100 back. Taylor Felty (200 IM), Kali Muthersbaugh (100 fly) and Elizabeth Bayliff (100 free) added individual event wins for Schuylkill Haven (3-3, 2-2 SL), which won 10-of-11 events.

Noel Bernardyn captured first in the 100 breaststroke for Mahanoy Area (1-2, 1-2).
