SHENANDOAH — Hannah Nestor scored 14 points and Rayanne Hawk added 13 as Williams Valley downed Shenandoah Valley 46-43 in a Schuylkill League Division II-III crossover game on Thursday.

Coupled with Marian’s victory over Lourdes, the outcome drops Shenandoah Valley one game behind Marian in the Division III race.

Abby Snitzer, who scored 15 points for Shenandoah Valley, put the Blue Devils ahead 43-42, but Kate Whelski answered with the go-ahead basket for the Vikings and Hannah Nestor added two free throws to set the final score.

Shenandoah Valley got 12 points from Marcella Creasy and 11 from Kristina Nieddu.

Penn State had the last shot in regulation and a chance to tie it at the end of overtime, but both attempts were off the mark.

Joelle Moyer and Sarah Celani held HACC’s Taylor Ford, who leads Region 9 in scoring, 11 points under her average at 17 points.
