FORESTVILLE - The fan-favorite roadrunners take center stage when racing returns to Big Diamond Speedway on Friday night.

The roadrunners will participate in the Crazy 8's - four eight-lap features, each carrying their own set of points - as part of Savage 61 Night at the Forestville dirt track.

Also on the card will be the ZY Pyrotechnics 358 Modifieds, U.S.S. Achey Sportsman and Anthracite Coal Delivery Street Stocks.

Roadrunner heat lineups will be luck of the draw. The first feature will be lined up by normal handicapping procedures.

The remaining three feature events will be lined up via an invert number, drawn by the previous feature winner. The invert numbers available will be 5, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 13.

Whatever number is drawn for the second feature will not be used again. Same thing for the third and fourth features. An invert number can only be used one time during the night.

Before the races begin, Shon Elk's No. 10x roadrunner car will be on display in the grandstand area. Elk will have several interesting events happening at his car before the evening's racing events begin, with all proceeds benefitting the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.

For a minimum donation of $1, all kids in attendance are invited to put a pink hand print on Elk's car. There will be two bikes being raffled off at $2 per ticket. Shon Elk Motorsports hats and T-shirts will be for sale, with $1 from each purchase going to the coalition.

Dillon wins Trucks race on dirt at Eldora

ROSSBURG, Ohio (AP) - Austin Dillon left the rest of the field in his dust to win NASCAR's return to dirt racing in the Truck Series races at Eldora Speedway.

Dillon pulled away in the green-white-checkered finish Wednesday night to complete a thrilling return to the muck of the clumpy dirt track.

The last time one of NASCAR's top touring series competed on dirt was Sept. 30, 1970, when Richard Petty won a Sprint Cup - called the Grand National Division at that time - race at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

That drought ended with racing that started early in the day and bled into late night at the Tony Stewart-owned half-mile track.

Ken Schrader become the oldest pole winner in a NASCAR series.

The 58-year-old Schrader had a lap of 91.329 mph on the half-mile dirt track. Dick Trickle was 57 years old when he won the pole for the June 1999 Nationwide Series race at Dover.
